Q: Will I be asleep?
A: Not necessarily. Most sedation options keep you awake but deeply relaxed. Some patients feel so comfortable that they drift in and out of sleep, but you’ll still be able to respond if needed.
Q: How long does it last?
A: It depends on the type of sedation used. Nitrous oxide wears off quickly—usually within minutes—while oral or IV sedation may last a few hours after your appointment.
